NB Gas Prices Dip Below A Dollar A Litre

Sounds like motorists are getting an early Christmas present at the pumps.

Gas prices are down again this week, bringing the cost to one that hasn’t been seen in around four years.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board made its price adjustment at midnight and the maximum price for regular self serve dipped by 5.7 cents a litre. Most stations in Moncton are selling for around 98 cents.

Senior petroleum analyst Dan McTeague with www.gasbuddy.com says the global economy is in poor health and the demand for oil is slumping, that’s driving prices down.

He says it’s hard to determine down long this downward trend will last, but New Brunswick is expected to see at least one more dip next week, because of gas regulation.

As for other prices, Diesel and furnace oil are both down by 1.4 cents a litre, .and propane decreased by 3 cents a litre.
