The Higgs government will unveil a capital budget today.
The finance minister is warning he won’t have a shopping list of items like the former Liberal government.
Ernie Steeves says there is a real focus on getting spending under control which is driving the province’s $14.3 billion debt.
“There have been a lot of long days. We often times will go until 10 o’clock at night meeting with departments. We are going through line by line.”
Steeves says the government will be focusing on maintaining the infrastructure already in place.
