The New Brunswick economy is expected to perform much better this year compared to the last four years according to the Business Development Bank of Canada.
But a study shows most small and medium-sized businesses are still weary of a sluggish economy.
BDC chief economist Pierre Cleroux predicts investment by most businesses in the province should remain stable this year.
“So New Brunswick small businesses are going to invest about the same this year as they did in 2015,” he notes.
Cleroux notes New Brunswick is not in a recession and has been experiencing small growth in the manufacturing and forestry sectors.
