NB Cycling Tour Raising Money For Oncology Centre

Fifty cyclists are hoping to raise at least $80,000 in next month’s Tour of Hope across New Brunswick.

The ride supports programs and equipment at the Dumont Hospital’s Oncology Centre.

Tour of Hope co-chair Dr. Carole Williams will take part again this year and says it’s something she wants to do for her patients.

“Initially it was a personal challenge. Of course I do it in hour of my patients who have cancer. I figure if they have to go through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation then a weekend of biking is nothing,” says Williams.

Starting on July 22, the cyclists will spend three days biking over 650 kilometres from Edmundston across to the Acadian Peninsula and then south to Moncton.
