NB Conservation Council Releases Policy To Encourage Climate Change Conversation

The Conservation Council of New Brunswick released a report today that offers provincial politicians, environmental policy makers and citizens a vision for tackling climate change.

The report covers electricity, provincial investments and government policies needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while at the same time keeping bills low and creating jobs in the province.

Greenhouse gas emissions in New Brunswick come from using fossil fuel energy like coal, oil and natural gas.

The “Climate Action Plan For New Brunswick”, released by the Conservation Council, offers to reduce these emissions through investments to retrofit buildings with renewable energy sources like solar and wind power.

The plan also proposes to create incentives to help New Brunswickers buy electric and energy efficient vehicles and trucks to cut waste and pollution.
