National Unemployment Rate Lowest In Almost Six Years

Canada’s economy generated over 74,000 new jobs last month, knocking the unemployment rate to its lowest level in nearly six years.

For September, it fell by 0.2 percentage points to 6.8 per cent.

That’s the lowest since December of 2008.

In New Brunswick, the rate for September was 9.6 per cent, that’s up 0.9 per cent from August.
