N.B. woman killed in stolen vehicle crash

A Tantramar woman is dead after a collision early Wednesday near Memramcook.

RCMP say one vehicle crashed at around 2:45 am on Route 2 near Meadow Brook.

A 33-year-old woman who was a passenger died at the scene.

The 30-year-old man who was driving was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

Police say the vehicle had been reported stolen from the Sackville area on April 14.

The Dieppe Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist and an RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (drone) operator assisted at the scene.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 2 near Meadbow Brook were closed for several hours while emergency responders were on scene.

There’s no word yet on what caused the crash.
