N.B. Liberals Hold Biennial Convention

The New Brunswick Liberal Party will hold its first virtual biennial convention Saturday.

Party officials say more than 1,100 people have registered to take part in the event.

“In speaking with Liberals since becoming interim leader, I could sense the momentum building within the party’s membership and I am thrilled to see that reflected in the number of people participating in our upcoming biennial,” said interim leader Roger Melanson in a statement.

A brand-new executive will be named as part of the convention, including the party’s next president.

Three people are vying for the position: Carley Parish of Hampton, Brian Murphy of Moncton South, and Bob McSorley of Fredericton West-Hanwell.

Voting took place over the past couple of weeks and wrapped up Friday.
