N.B. diesel, furnace oil prices rise under interrupter clause

In an unexpected change, diesel and furnace oil rates have spiked.

The Energy and Utilities Board invoked the interrupter clause overnight.

Those using furnace oil are paying 6.8 cents per litre more. The maximum price now sits at around $1.91.

Diesel users are forking out 7.2 cents per litre extra, bringing the maximum to around $2.01.

There was no change for regular self-serve gas.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board will make its weekly price adjustments on Thursday night at midnight.
