More concerns from Flaggers on construction zones, that motorists are not following the rules of the road.
We’ve received calls in our newsroom, that drivers are not slowing down.
Health and Safety Coordinator for the City of Moncton Jerry Doucette says they’re putting the lives of both the Flaggers and construction workers at risk.
He says, “Flaggers are there to protect the construction workers. These are possibly moms and the dads, sisters and brothers who are trying to make a living.”
Doucette says a Flagger was hit last week in a construction zone, and he flew about 20 feet.
He says traffic is sometimes backed up, but the worst traffic jam in Moncton is only about five or ten minutes, so be patient.
