Motorcycle driver facing charges after crash in Riverview

A man is facing several charges after a collision on Pine Glen Road in Riverview.

Codiac RCMP Inspector Jonathan White said it’s believed a motorcycle collided with the back of a car on June 17.

“Witnesses indicated that the driver of the motorcycle was passing traffic while doing wheelies before hitting the back of the vehicle,” White explained.

“The driver was found to be suspended from driving and exhibited signs of impairment by drugs. He was brought back for a drug-impaired evaluation, which he failed,” White said.

He also stated the same motorcycle was reportedly involved in several calls for fleeing police last summer.

There was no word on whether anyone was hurt in the collision.

The man will appear in court at a later date.
