A new survey has found that two-thirds of Canadians support the federal government’s decision to increase the number of eligible Afghan refugees coming to Canada.
Logit Group’s Canadian Omnibus surveyed 2,000 Canadians whose responses were analyzed by Narrative Research.
Narrative found that 64 per cent of people surveyed supported the government in its quest to welcome more refugees.
However, those results differ based on age group, with 55 per cent of people aged 35-54 in support, versus 77 per cent of people aged 18-34.
Results also found people with post-secondary education are more likely to support the government’s move to welcome more Afghan refugees.
Unemployed Canadians were less likely to support the initiative.
