Construction in and around downtown Moncton was booming in 2019.
Mayor Dawn Arnold says the growth is unprecedented, reaching over a quarter of a billion dollars in building permits.
She says the development fits right into city council’s main goals to grow the economy and enhance equality of life for all.
Mayor Arnold was also pleased with that a number of local developers believe in the city and the growth it’s been experiencing.
“Because they have a lot of choices and in the past, they have often invested elsewhere but right now they’re investing in our community and we’re very thankful for that,” she says.
Arnold adds that a number of projects will be finalized this year, including the Centennial Beach and the new YMCA in the city’s North end.
