Monctonians Say Their City Council Is Getting It Right.

Moncton City Council has the official stamp of approval from Monctonians according to a recent survey.

The results show 79% of those polled thought that City Council was doing a good job of running the city.

Deputy Mayor Shawn Crossman says municipal politicians are the first line of contact with the people.

“Municipal politics is hands on, we’re the ones who get all the first calls be it a provincial issue, or a federal issue,” says Crossman. “At the end of the day the citizen picks up the phone and calls their local ward councillor or city councillor.”

Crossman says the reason Council can provide such good service is because of the willingness of people to engage and connect with their representatives about issues that concern them.

The poll was conducted by Corporate Research Associates in late October and early November, and this result is the highest in the past year.
