Moncton Woman Sentenced For Stabbing Boyfriend

A 28-year-old Moncton woman has been sentenced to 30 months in jail for stabbing her boyfriend.

Nikita Dedam was originally charged with attempted murder and was scheduled to stand trial.

But instead she pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of aggravated assault in Moncton court today.

RCMP responded to call at a High Street home in October in which a 36-year-old man has been stabbed in the head.

Dedam was arrested on October 2 following what Mounties called a domestic incident.
