The City of Moncton and Curl Moncton have announced their intent to bid on the 2020 Tim Horton’s Brier.
Their bid will be submitted to Curl Canada in late June, with the goal of welcoming the event in March 2020.
Moncton previously submitted a bid in the hopes of bringing the 2019 Brier to the Hub City, but was unsuccessful. Brandon, Manitoba was the chosen city.
“While we were disappointed not to have been chosen for the 2019 event, Curling Canada confirmed that Moncton submitted a high quality bid and perhaps most positively, they are excited about working with Moncton on potential events in other years; including future editions of the Brier”, explained Mayor Dawn Arnold. “This is an exciting time because we now know a variety of elements required to make a winning bid. We intend to put all our efforts behind this submission with the goal of seeing the 2020 Brier in Moncton’s new events centre.”
Pre-event packages are available for sale now, and can be purchased online at tickets.moncton.ca, in person at the Moncton Coliseum Box Office (377 Killam Drive) or by phone at 1-888-720-5600.
