Moncton Pride Parade Breaks Own Record With 75 Registered Groups

Thousands of people lined the streets Saturday for the 19th Greater Moncton Pride Parade.

More than 75 groups were registered to march in celebration of sexual and gender diversity – a record for the River of Pride organization.

There were many first time participants this year, including the Town of Shediac, the City of Dieppe, and the Riverview Skatepark and Youth Association.

River of Pride reports 2,050 people attended one or more of the thirty Pride Week events that took place in the lead up to Saturday’s parade.

They say that represents a 65 per cent increase in participation from the previous year.
