Moncton Playgrounds Off Limit

Mayor of Moncton is encouraging residents to use the city’s parks and trails but says playgrounds are restricted.

Dawn Arnold says that while few are still using local playgrounds, city parks crews are adding signs warning residents they are not sanitized and to stay away from them.

Arnold says she’s happy to see the community come together during the pandemic, offering to help families fight boredom while respecting the state of emergency.

“We are hearing many positive stories coming out of our community. Groups and organizations are using online tools to offer online fitness classes, exercise videos, activities for kids, Facebook playdates and virtual art classes,” she says.

Arnold added that local shelters, food banks and soup kitchens have been benefiting greatly form the community’s generosity.
