Moncton Man Says Beware Of Potholes!

If you have travelled New Brunswick’s roads, you have probably hit a few potholes.

One Moncton man told us the damage caused between Sussex and Petitcodiac.

Around two weeks ago, 19 year Jordan Douthwright says his car lost the battle when it came up against a pothole, “I hit it with one tire, and then another tire. I don’t have two spare tires. As I was waiting for my dad to come with additional tires, I was there for around 45 minutes, three other motorists hit the same pothole and had the same thing happen to them.”

Douthwright says it damaged the tires and the rims and they had to get an alignment done.

He says the hole was around three feet long and around a foot wide.

Douthwright says they are still waiting to hear back from the government on whether the damages will be covered.

The Department of Transportation was notified and signs have now gone up.

“Stay aware when you are driving, because there are potholes everywhere,” says Douthwright.

Meantime, if you have potholes on your street and you are thinking of filling them yourself. The City of Moncton says residents would not have the proper resources to do the work. They encourage you instead to report it through dispatch.
