Moncton man pleads guilty in child porn investigation

A 49-year-old Moncton man has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with a child pornography investigation.

RCMP began their investigation in November 2022 after receiving info from their National Child Exploitation Crime Centre and the Toronto Police Services.

Officers searched a home on Worthington Avenue in February 2023 and seized several electronic devices.

A man was also arrested at the scene and later released on strict conditions pending a future court appearance.

Michel Joseph Leger appeared in court three months later and was charged with accessing, possessing and transmitting child pornography.

On Monday, before his trial was set to begin, Leger pleaded guilty to possessing and making available child pornography. He is scheduled to return to court in December for sentencing.
