Moncton Man Faces 90 Days Of Jail Time For Child Pornography

A 54-year old Moncton man has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for possession of child pornography.

Sam Barrett was charged with possessing and transmitting child porn on November 10th, 2016.

He pleaded guilty to possession.

The charges came from an investigation by the New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit beginning in May 2016.

A 52-year old man was arrested at a home on Lewisville Road in August of that same year.

In addition to jail time to be served on weekends, Barrett will be added to the National Sex Offender Registry and will be required to submit a DNA sample.
