Moncton Man Charged Following Armed Robbery In Dieppe

A 34-year-old man from Moncton has been charged in connection to a robbery in Deippe.

Early Monday morning, Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery that occurred outside near Gauvin Street in Dieppe.

Police say an altercation began between two men who knew each other and one allegedly threatened the other man with a knife and demanded money.

No one was injured but the suspect fled in a vehicle with some cash.

Police attempted to stop the suspect on two separate occasions in Moncton, but say the driver refused to stop.

They says he struck a house on Carney Avenue in Moncton and fled the scene before being arrested on foot a short time later.

Peter Thomas Poirier appeared in court and charged with robbery. He is in custody and awaiting a bail hearing later this week.
