Moncton Man Arrested In Bizarre Bouctouche Crash

A bizarre crash scene on Highway 11 near Bouctouche involving a car, an ambulance and an SUV has led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man.

Around 9:30 Tuesday night, Southeast RCMP say an SUV pulled over to help after a car struck an ambulance.

But when the SUV driver got out, the driver of the car jumped in and tried to flee with a passenger still inside.

The passenger was pushed out of the SUV during a struggle before it landed in a nearby ditch.

Police say the passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries but no one else was hurt.

The suspect fled but officers brought in a police dog and a man was eventually apprehended.

Bradley Mitton of Moncton is facing charges including failing to remain at the scene, assault, theft of a vehicle and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

He will return to court on March 28 following a court-ordered evaluation.
