Moncton Implements All-Day Parking Ban

The City of Moncton has implemented a temporary all-day parking ban as the community continues to dig out from the effects of several storms.

All motorists are responsible for removing their vehicle from the street, with non-compliant drivers risking the possibility of having their vehicle towed.

Typically, residents are subject to the winter parking restrictions, which require vehicles to be off the streets between midnight and 7 a.m.

According to a news release distributed late Tuesday, the parking ban allows crews to complete snow clearing operations, including widening streets.

Restrictions are expected to change regularly, as crews finish work, and the city says it will advise motorists of the changes by:

  • Installing temporary no parking signs in the snowbanks along the affected streets;
  • Issuing a Public Service Announcement advising of the streets affected;
  • Posting on social media to advise of the affected streets.

Snow removal operations dominated a Moncton City Council meeting on Monday after the latest winter blast brought over 50 cm of snow to the region.
