Moncton Headstart’s Toyland Campaign Underway

Registration is now underway for Christmas Toyland at Moncton Headstart to ensure families in need have gifts for their children under the tree.

New toys and monetary donations are being sought for newborns to teenagers.

Executive director Mary O’Donnell calls it a magical time of year when Headstart is turned into Santa’s workshop.

“They (the families) have an opportunity to come in and pick three toys per child. They get to look around and see what their child might be looking for and we help them fulfill that need,” she says.

O’Donnell adds about 1700 children were served last year and she expects roughly the same number this year.

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at any Greater Moncton Jean Coutu location, NBCC Moncton campus, Boutique Second Edition or Headstart on Mountain Road.
