Shortly before midnight Friday, the Moncton Fire Department were called to United Performance Gym on Elmwood Drive.
Engine 1 was already on scene investigating an unrelated call when they discovered a small fire at the gym.
Firefighters promptly took action and extinguished the fire, the building was ventilated, and building services were returned to normal.
No injuries were reported and fire investigators began searching for a cause.
