Moncton Fire Responds To Call On John Street

Shortly after noon today, the Moncton fire department responded to a call about a structure fire on John Street.

Platoon Chief Paul Bruens says 14 firefighter were deployed to the scene.

He says upon arrival there were visible flames on the exterior of the building.

They acted quickly to extinguish the fire and performed extension checks.

Chief Bruens says one child and 4 adults were inside at the time of the fire but they evacuated safely and nobody was injured.

The cause of the fire remains unknown but investigations are ongoing.
