Consumer confidence in Moncton has reached its highest level in seven years this month.
According to a poll conducted by Corporate Research Associates, consumer confidence increased two points from the previous month to 108.4.
Consumer confidence measures how optimistic people are about current and future economic conditions.
Moncton is reporting the strongest levels of consumer confidence of the four urban markets surveyed in Atlantic Canada – Halifax, Saint John, and Fredericton.
Satisfaction with Moncton City Council also reached its highest level since May of last year – with 63 per cent of respondents expressing they were content with council’s performance.
That’s up from 56 per cent three months ago.
The results were compiled from an independent phone survey of 149 Moncton residents over the last month.
