MLAs Sworn In At Legislature

All 49 people elected during the provincial election on September 24 are now Members of the Legislative Assembly.

They were sworn in during a ceremony at the legislature on Friday morning.

It was presided over by Lieutenant-Governor Jocelyne Roy Vienneau.

The Conservatives hold 22 seats, the Liberals have 21, and the Greens and People’s Alliance each have three seats.

The MLAs are expected to return to the legislature on Tuesday for an election of a speaker and a speech from the throne.
