A Progressive Conservative MLA in Fredericton won’t be reoffering in September’s election.
Fredericton West-Hanwell MLA Brian Macdonald made the announcement in a Facebook post on Monday.
He says he’s humbled and honoured to have served in the legislature over the last eight years.
Macdonald was first elected to the legislature in 2010 and ran for the PC leadership in 2016.
As for what’s next, Macdonald says he’s exploring national and international opportunities to continue to serve.
He says he’ll continue to fight for better care for first responders and veterans, for those who suffer from mental illness, and for rural communities.
