Miramichi Police Save Teen Found In Freezing Temperatures

Quick action by Miramichi police saved the life of a teen.

An officer was dispatched on Friday morning, in minus 22 degree weather, after reports of clothing lying in the driveway at a home.

Footprints were spotted and the officer followed them through the knee high snow.

There they found a a 16-year-old who was not wearing shoes or a coat, almost covered by snow.

Police says she was almost non responsive and her hands were purple.

The teen was rushed to hospital where she was treated for an extreme case of hypothermia.

Thanks to the fact she was found and given the necessary treatment, she is expected to make a full recovery.
