Messy Weather To Ring In New Year

Planning around the weather will be key to your New Year’s Eve plans tonight with a messy mix of weather on the way.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Andy Firth says heavy snow begins around noon today and it will be mixed with ice pellets this afternoon.

“That snow will change to rain either late this afternoon or this evening depending on where you are. Total snowfall amounts of 10 possibly 15 centimetres,” Firth said.

Snowfall warnings are in place for places including Fredericton, Miramichi and Oromcoto where up to 15 centimetres may come today and another 5 to 10 cm’s tonight.

if you have plans for New Year’s Eve, you’ll want to keep an eye on the storm. With ongoing festivities, a lot of people are outdoors or travelling around so you’ll need to take some extra caution.
