It could be a treacherous drive into school and work tomorrow morning.
Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick are currently under a special weather statement, with a mix of snow, rain, freezing rain and ice pellets expected.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Jill Maepea says we could see conditions worsen, as this system approaches, “Parts of the province are already under freezing rain warnings, but as conditions change and as the system evolves towards the New Brunswick area, we could see the possibility of a freezing rain warning for the Moncton area.”
Freezing rain warnings currently extend through Kent County and into Queens County and Sunbury County. There are also snowfall warnings in effect in the northern parts of the province.
Maepea says, “The worst conditions will probably be during the morning commute tomorrow. We could see some northeast winds as well, gusting up to 60 kilometres and hour, which could reduce visibility with the snow mixed in.”
