May Speaks Highly Of Canada’s Performance At The Paris Climate Talks

Federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna saying Canada supports 1.5 degrees as the long term goal for the warming of the planet.

She made the announcement last night as the Climate Change Conference in Paris enters its second and final week.

Green Party Leader Elizabeth May says McKenna is also calling for a binding treaty and regular reviews.

May says she is happy to be part of the Canadian delegation this time and not having to catch a ride with another government adding it’s wonderful to be in a top negotiation where Canada is doing a good job.

Speaking in Paris, Mayor Libby Schaaf of Oakland, California says they are combining clean energy programmes to create jobs for people just out of prison.
