Marissa Shephard Makes First Court Appearance, Two Others Now Charged

A first court appearance today by Marissa Shephard who is charged with first degree murder and arson in connection with the death of Baylee Wylie. Two others are also facing charges.

She faced forward, without making any eye contact with anyone in the courtroom.

Lawyer Gilles Lemieux asked for more time in the case, and it has been put over until March 18th.

Stephen Nagle and Krystal Toole are also now charged with being an accessory after the fact to first degree murder for aiding Shephard.

Toole showed no emotion, while Nagle was in tears. At one point he told the Judge, “This is ridiculous. I thought Marissa was dead”. He also told the court that Shephard was going to turn herself into police last night.

Nagle’s case has been adjourned until March 10th, while he applies for legal aid. Toole’s case has been adjourned until March 16th.
