Production of marijuana continues to increase rapidly at Moncton-based Organigram.
The expanding facility in the Moncton Industrial Park supplies medical cannabis to clients across the country and is about to enter the soon-to-be-legalized recreational market.
Organigram CEO Greg Engel says the company is also eyeing growth opportunities outside Canada.
“We see ourselves as a national player and then going forward really as an international player. Most of the European medical market today does not have domestic production so there are tremendous opportunities as we scale up for export into the European domestic medical cannabis market,” he notes.
For the national recreational cannabis market, Engel adds Organigram has already signed supply agreements with New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island and is now working with other provinces including Ontario and Alberta.
