A march in support of women’s rights is being held in Moncton on International Women’s day.
Women, men and anyone else who wishes to show their support for women’s rights are invited to march down Main street on Sunday.
Participants will meet at the Avenir Centre at 12:30 on and make their way to City Hall for a community fair where a number of organizations will have information kiosks.
Chair of the Coalition for Pay Equity, Frances LeBlanc says participants will have the chance to share stories and solutions.
“There will be special guests, several women providing testimonials and calls for action, including workers that do suffer from pay inequity so we are very fortunate to be able to provide them a platform,” she says.
LeBlanc says it’s the first time they’ve partnered with two other women’s activist groups, the Regroupement féministe du Nouveau-Brunswick and the Alliance des femmes de la francophonie canadienne.
