Man Rescued From Moncton House Fire

Moncton firefighters rescued a man from a burning home on Park Street Wednesday afternoon.

Fire Platoon Chief Brian McDonald says crews responded to a two-storey house shortly after 4-pm and learned a man was trapped inside.

He says firefighters found the man and brought him outside to waiting paramedics.

He was later taken to hospital and there’s no word on his condition.

McDonald says crews were able to save five cats inside the home while four others died.

Fire investigators are on scene trying to determine the cause.
