Man killed, teen injured in Charlotte County crash

A single-vehicle crash in Charlotte County has left one man dead and a teenage girl injured.

Emergency crews were called to Route 127 in Lawrence Station around 11:55 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators believe the pick-up truck left the road and hit railway tracks, causing the vehicle to roll over.

The driver, a 24-year-old man from the Deer Island community of Hersonville, died from his injuries in the hospital.

Police said a 15-year-old girl was also taken to the hospital with what were believed to be serious injuries.

Investigators are still piecing together the cause of the crash.
