Man injured in Saint-Antoine shooting: RCMP

RCMP say there is no danger to the public after an early morning shooting incident in Saint-Antoine.

Richibucto RCMP officers were called to a report of gunshots on rue Camille at around 4:40 a.m. Monday.

Sgt. Guillaume Bellanger told our newsroom they located a man in his 30s who had suffered a gunshot wound.

Bellanger said the victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

“At this time, there is no danger to the general public and police believe this to be an isolated event,” he said.

No arrests had been made as of late Monday afternoon, according to Bellanger.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Richibucto RCMP at 506-523-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
