Man dies after jet ski, recreational boat collide

A man has died after his jet ski collided with a recreational boat on a northeastern New Brunswick river.

RCMP said the collision happened on the Tracadie River in Petit-Tracadie shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday.

The driver of the jet ski, a 53-year-old man from Rivière-à-la-Truite, died at the scene from his injuries.

Three people on board the boat were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver, who was initially missing, was later found on shore and taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Mounties continue to investigate the exact cause of the crash.
