Man Dies After Crash Near Coles Island

Mounties say a 24-year-old man has died after a two-vehicle crash near Coles Island.

RCMP say a car and a pickup truck collided near Route 10 and Bagdad Road on Friday afternoon.

“The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of the car made a sudden stop, causing the truck to collide with the rear end of the car. The car then rolled into the ditch,” RCMP said in a news release on Tuesday.

The driver of the car, who was from nearby Mill Cove, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and died on Sunday.

Police said the passenger in the car suffered minor injuries, while the driver of the truck was not hurt.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the man’s exact cause of death.
