Man arrested in Moncton drug investigation

A 65-year-old man in Moncton was arrested following a police probe into local drug trafficking.

The RCMP started the investigation on February 12, focusing on illegal drug activities in the area.

Officers arrested the man Wednesday on Mapleton Road and conducted searches at his vehicle and a residence on Winnipeg Street.

During these searches, police allegedly confiscated various drugs, including suspected cocaine, oxycodone, and hydromorphone.

They also seized drug paraphernalia and an unreported quantity of cash.

The man has been released from custody and is set to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on July 8.
