Man arrested after Plaster Rock weapons incident

Mounties say a 31-year-old man has been charged after a weapons incident in Plaster Rock.

Officers received a report of a man uttering threats in the Main Street area around 1:45 a.m. Sunday.

Police arrived on the scene and began searching the area with help from RCMP Police Dog Services.

“An Alert Ready message was prepared to advise the public to remain inside and lock their doors, however, police located the individual moments before the alert was sent out,” police said in a news release on Tuesday.

Police said they arrested a man who was found to have a concealed weapon on him.

He is charged with two weapons-related offences and failing to comply with conditions.

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday.
