Man Arrested After Contraband Seizure Near Petitcodiac

RCMP say a single-vehicle collision near Petitcodiac has led to the seizure of drugs and illegal cigarettes.

On Friday afternoon (November 2), Mounties were called to Wheaton Settlement Road where a car was found in the ditch.

The driver and only occupant was not seriously hurt.

But when officers looked inside the vehicle, they found 60,000 contraband cigarettes and a quantity of what’s believed to be crystal meth tablets.

A 43-year-old Moncton man has been arrested and is being held in custody until an impending court date.
