Magnetic Hill Zoo Celebrates The ‘Year of the Wolf’

The Magnetic Hill Zoo is holding their annual Wild Lights event all month long.

Zoo director Jill Marvin says this year, the zoo chose to highlight ‘the year of the wolf’.

“All year we’ve had different ways to donate to wold conservation. There are items for sale in the gist shop and a couple of donation boxes in the area by the wolves,” she says.

The zoo’s Arctic wolves’s exhibit underwent renovations over the summer that included a bigger enclosure, viewing windows and informative panels for guests.

A number wolf-themes lights can be seen all over the park, in addition to many favourite displays from the last 4 years.

Marvin is also excited about another new feature this year, a lights and sound display.

“The sound and light is something that I’ve seen in a lot of different facilities. Adding the timing of the light with the sound really give it a nice touch,”

Marvin says it’s a great opportunity to enjoy holiday lights while learning about wildlife conservation.

You can check out the Wild Lights special event from now until January 4th.
