Victims of impaired driving across New Brunswick will be honoured at a ceremony in Moncton this afternoon.
The fifth annual MADD Canada Service of Remembrance and Hope will include a candle lighting and the addition of five new names to a granite memorial at Fair Haven Gardens on Salisbury Road.
Susan MacAskill with MADD says it’s a sombre ceremony, but an important one.
“We want to honour those whose lives have ended tragically because of the irresponsible actions of another individual on highways in the province.”
According to MADD, impaired driving is the number one criminal cause of death in Canada.
