The low price of gas will have the same impact as lower taxes.
Kevin Lacey of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation tells us that money that used to go to big oil companies can be used somewhere else.
He says it will also mean that things in Alberta’s oil sands will slow down.
He says when you see the Energy East Pipeline and other natural resources and some of the those people while losing a job in Alberta could potentially find new work in New Brunswick because we need that labour to build and take advantage of these new opporotunities.
The price of oil dipped briefly below $50 US a barrrel in trading on Monday.
