Roy Billingsley was notified that he won a prize through an online contest at Atlantic Lottery Corporation but he was skeptical so he called his friend Troy MacLeod who works there to confirm.
MacLeod told his friend he won a smaller prize and the two agreed to have lunch on Monday.
While they were eating, a new Ford F-150 truck decked out with balloons pulled up outside with ALC staffers honking the horn and yelling.
Billingsley took the truck on a test drive but in the end decided to take the $35,000 in cash instead.
