After 40 years in downtown Moncton, Jean’s Restaurant on St. George Street has closed.
Owner Jean Bastarache says business had been declining in recent years despite a recent addition and renovations.
Despite the closure, there are no plans to sell the property anytime soon.
The restaurant’s second location in the north end on Mountain Road will remain open.
About 12 employees worked at the restaurant, some were offered severance packages while a few others are now working at the other location.
